Chili con carne with bacon
A friend gave me the tip to use bacon and kidney beans in your Chili con carne and I loved it. Hope you will too!
0.7 lbs ground beef
0.3 lbs bacon
14 oz kidney beans
14 oz chopped tomatoes
½ chili pepper fruit (depending on its heat)
1 tbsp tomato purée
Fry ground beef, bacon and onion until the beef is almost ready. Add chopped tomatoes and chili pepper fruit. Add a pinch of sugar, tomato purée and the other herbs and spices. Allow to simmer for a while until the liquid has reduced. Add the kidney beans. Keep the pan on the stove for a little while longer (about 5 minutes).
Serve with your favorite type of rice (mine is jasmine rice).
